ԿՈՄԻՏԱՍԻ ՆԱՄԱԿՆԵՐԸ
Կոմիտասի ժառանգության կարևոր մասն են կազմում նրա նամակները։ Դրանք մեծ երաժշտի կյանքի ու բազմածավալ գործունեության, խոհերի, ժամանակի, մշակութային-հասարակական կյանքի խոսուն վկաներն են։ Կոմիտասը նամակագրական կապի մեջ է եղել հայ մտավորականության և հոգևորականության շատ ներկայացուցիչների հետ, կիսել իր մտորումները՝ մերթ ներկայանալով որպես հոռետես և անաչառ քննադատ, մերթ՝ լավատես։ Նամակներն հնարավորություն են ընձեռում «շփվել» և ավելի լավ ճանաչել հանճարեղ արվեստագետին՝ բացառիկ գրավչությամբ, համեստությամբ, խորաթափանց մտքով և ինքնատիպ սրամտությամբ օժտված Կոմիտասին։
Կոմիտասի հարյուրավոր նամակներից ներկայացնում ենք միայն մի քանիսը՝ որոշակի կրճատումներով։
Sպիրիդոն Մելիքյանին 1913, 9 հունիս, Կ.Պոլիս
Սիրելի Սպիրիդոն ջան,
Այս շաբաթ օր ճանապարհ եմ ելնելու դէպի Կովկաս և Թիֆլիզ: Բաթումէն կգրեմ կամ կհեռագրեմ քեզ գալու օրս, ու մի լաւ կուշտ ու կուռ կխօսենք իրար հետ:
Շատ ուրախ եմ, որ վերջապէս ամուսնացել ես և մինչև իսկ ժառանգդ պատրաստել արքայական գահիդ համար, ես էլ ասում եմ, թէ էս ի՞նչ Soprano է, որ լսում եմ հեռաւոր ամպերի մէջէն և Թիֆլիզի հորիզոնէն, դու մի ասա մեր Թստեբանն է եղել՝ հափշո՜ւն է եղել: Մի գամ, տես քեզ որքա՜ն եմ ծեծելու՝ խորտուխաշիլ եմ անելու, որ մէկ էլ չհիւանդանաս. ժամանակ ես գտել, հը՞: Լրագրերի մէջ կարդացել էի հիմնած երեժըշտական միութեանդ մասին և իսկոյն գուշակեցի, որ դուն ես շարժել քաղաքիդ երաժշտական ճահիճները, և աւելի ուրախացայ, որ ապագան ապահովելու համար հրաժարուել ես նախագահութենէն, զի գորտերը պիտի գրգռէին քու դէմ, ապրիս, պաչիկս, Թստեբան ջան:
Բանիւ բերանոյ կխօսենք իրար հետ, սպասում եմ նախարարի թոյլտւութեան Պետերբուրգէն, առանց որի կարող չեն հոգևորականները Կովկաս անցնել, արգելք չեն յարուցանի, զի դեսպանի հետ աղբէր ենք եղել:
Շատ ու շատ բարևներս և օրհնութիւններս Սաթիկիդ (ո՛չ Արազեանի), որ քեզ համար լաւ ու անձնուէր ընկեր է հանդիսացել, և քեզ ու պզտիկիդ՝ ջերմ համբոյրներով. գալու եմ և նոր պսակելու եմ, էն թաւուր չէ, չե՛մ ընդունում:

Komitas’s letters are an important part of his heritage. They are vivid witnesses of the outstanding musician’s life, broad activities, thoughts and cultural-social life periods. Komitas was always in touch with lots of Armenian intelligentsia and clergy representatives, shared his thoughts sometimes presenting himself as a pessimist and an unbiased critic but sometimes as an optimistic. The letters give us the opportunity to “communicate” and get acquainted with the talented artist with exclusive attraction, modesty, thoughtful mind and his unique ingenuity.
We represent you some of Komitas’s letters among hundreds of them with some restrictions.

Dear Spiridon,
This Saturday I am moving to Caucasus and Tbilisi. I will send you messages or telegraphs from Batumi to inform about my arrival and we will talk all day.
I am very happy that you are married and you have already had the heir of your throne. I wonder what those Sopranos were that I heard from the clouds and the horizon of Tbilisi. I found out it was Tsteban. Look, when I come, I’ll beat you if you fall ill again. Is it time to get ill, eh? I read in the newspapers about your union of music and I immediately guessed that you were the one who pulled the music industry of your city from hard times and marsh. I was more thrilled you refused presidency to provide the future knowing that if you accepted it the frogs would cackle. Good for you, my dear Spiridon, kiss you.
We will talk to each other more, I am waiting for the minister’s permission from Petersburg, without it the clergy cannot pass the Caucasus, there won’t be any prohibitions or barriers, as we are like brothers with the Ambassador.
I send my regards and blessing to Satik (not Arazian) for being a good friend and partner. I send lots of kisses to you and your baby. It is not into account that you are married as I’ll come and marry you once more time.
